Notes

  • Always preheat your air fryer and thoroughly coat your basket with cooking spray.
  • Be sure to tap off the excess dry and wet ingredients when coating your chicken.
  • Flip your chicken fries over halfway through cooking to ensure even cooking and crisping.
  • Blend breading ingredients with food processor first so crumbs are smooth if possible. You'll be so glad you did it. The coating on the chicken fries is a little bit nicer.

BAKE: Once all of your chicken strips are coated, arrange them on a non-stick baking sheet or a wire rack. Make sure there's enough space between each strip to allow for even cooking. Place the baking sheet in the 400 degree preheated oven and let it cook for about 20 minutes. Be sure to keep an eye on the chicken fries to ensure they don't overcook. You may want to flip them halfway through the cooking process for a more evenly cooked final product.
DEEP FRY: Heat oil in a deep-frying pan until it reaches around 350°F (175°C). Carefully place each breaded chicken strip in the hot oil, and fry them until golden brown and cooked through. It should take around 3-4 minutes per side. Once done, transfer the chicken fries to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
