If you’re looking for a delicious, easy appetizer to serve your friends or family on game day or for any occasion then air fryer cream cheese wontons are perfect. Cream cheese wontons are small and bite-sized pieces of air fried, crispy wonton that can be filled with cream cheese mixed with green onion and garlic so they taste incredible!

The air fryer makes them lighter, crunchier, and less oily than deep frying which means you can eat more of them without feeling guilty about it.  They also don’t take long to make either and they are packed full of flavor.  If you want to know how to make these appetizers yourself instead of purchasing at the store then all you need to do is read on.

Can I freeze Cream Cheese Wontons

Yes, you can freeze cream cheese wontons.  I recommend that you store them in a plastic freezer bag with a paper towel inside so that there is minimal condensation.  If the wontons become soggy after thawing, then put them back into the air fryer for a few minutes until crispy again. If you want to skip thawing you can do that also. Just toss your wontons back into your air fryer at 350 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes.

How do I reheat cream cheese wontons

To reheat your air fryer cream cheese wontons turn the air fryer up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and put them in for 2 to 3 minutes. You can also put them into a 350 degree oven for five minutes if you do not want to use the air fryer again until later.

What is your favorite way to eat Cream Cheese Wontons

I love eating cream cheese wontons with hot sauce!  It really enhances the flavors of everything inside so it is definitely my top choice. You can dip these appetizers in soy sauce but I prefer not to unless that’s all I have on hand because it makes them taste less sweet and more savory.  Some people also like to dip theirs in sweet chili sauce. No matter what you dip them in, they are delicious.

What is an air fryer cream cheese wonton

An air fryer cream cheese wonton is a small, bite-sized crispy cream cheese filled air fried wonton. They are amazing to snack on while watching a football game or at your next party or gathering. The air fryer makes them lighter, crunchier, and less oily than deep frying which means you can eat more of them! Sometimes they are called Cream Cheese Rangoon. I love the ones from Panda Express.

    What do these taste like

Cream cheese wontons taste incredible! They are light and crispy with that little bit of onion and garlic flavor. These crispy wontons will bring back memories of eating those appetizers as a kid but you won’t have to feel guilty about it since they’re so healthy for you. They don’t take long to make either and they are packed full of flavor.

    Why use an air fryer

The air fryer has many pros over the traditional deep fryer. It’s much safer because there is no oil splattering. Not only is there less mess by using an air fryer it is also quicker. While cooking the cream cheese wontons in an air fryer, you do not need to stand over them and turn them. And, since you aren’t deep fat frying there is also less fat.

Why make your own wontons over buying them at a store

Most cream cheese wontons you buy from the stores have been frozen and stored many times before so they tend to be quite stale by the time you purchase them. Making fresh homemade wontons tastes so much better.

Where can I find wonton wrappers at the grocery store

The best place to find the wonton wrappers is in the produce section, usually near the tofu. If you have a Asian market nearby that would be a great place to look for them as well. Sometimes wonton wrappers are also in the freezer department near the biscuits and dumplings.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Cream Cheese Wontons

    • 24 wonton wrappers
    • 1 brick (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
    • ¼ cup green onions, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

How to make this cream cheese wontons recipe

Step 1. In a medium mixing bowl, mix cream cheese, green onions, and garlic powder together.

Step 2. Place 1 tablespoon of mixture on each wonton wrapper. Using your finger, rub a little bit of water on all four edges .Fold opposite corners together, sealing them.

Step 3. Bring the other two corners to the middle, sealing all four edges. It is important that they are sealed well to prevent the filling from getting out while cooking.

Step 4. Place wontons in a greased air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.

Step 5. Air fryer at 350ºF for 8-10 minutes or until the wonton wrappers turn golden brown.

Step 6. Serve with sweet chili sauce and enjoy!

I hope that your family enjoys these tasty little snacks as much as family does. If you try this easy air fryer recipe, leave me a message and let me know what your family thinks.
