Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon butter softened
  • 2-4 tablespoon milk
  • Sprinkles, optional

Instructions

Cookie Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • Prepare a baking sheet by spraying it with cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl add butter and sugar.
  • Beat softened butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  • Add dry jello.
  • Mix until it is incorporated.
  • Add eggs and beat again.
  • Add flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Beat well until cookie dough is uniform. Be sure to scrape the sides as needed.
  • Using a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop or spoon, scoop dough onto your prepare baking sheet.
  • Roll each ball of dough until it is smooth.
  • Spray the bottom of a glass with cooking spray and gently flatten each ball of dough.
  • Place baking sheet inside oven.
  • Bake for 9-10 minutes or until edges begin to brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on pan.

Frosting Directions

  • To prepare frosting, beat powdered sugar, butter, and milk together.
  • If it is too thick, add a little milk. If it is too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar.
  • Blend until incorporated.
  • When cookies are cool, add frosting.
  • Add sprinkles.
  • Enjoy every bite!

Notes

  • Do not melt your butter. The butter for your sugar cookies needs to be softened, not melted. Softened means at room temperature. Melted butter will cause your cookies to be thin. 
  • Use a glass baking pan. A metal baking sheet will cause your sugar cookie bottoms to brown more. A glass baking pan will help keep your cookies soft and chewy. 
  • Be careful not to overbake your cookies. Bake your sugar cookies until their edges start to slightly brown. Overbaking your cookies can cause them to harden and become tough. 
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent your cookies from sticking. When you use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat it  will help remove your cookies smoothly and easily from the baking sheet.  No need to scrape your cookies off the pan when you use parchment paper or a baking mat.
