Slow Cooker Mushrooms

This recipe for tender Crockpot Mushrooms takes any dinner to the next level. They are bursting with fresh bold garlic flavor and acidity from the white wine.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh whole mushrooms white, cremini or baby bella mushrooms can be used
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Additional butter and fresh parsley for serving, optional

Instructions

  • Clean and dry the mushrooms. Place them in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Pour white wine over mushrooms. Place a stick of butter on top of the mushrooms.
  • Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, salt and pepper over the mushrooms, butter and wine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
  • Transfer to a serving dish. If desired, toss in additional butter and top with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Try with stock: Don’t want to use wine? Try this recipe with vegetable stock instead. The mushrooms need moisture while they cook so they don’t dry out.
  • Don’t overcook the mushrooms: Keep a close eye on the crockpot and the cooking time. If left too long, they will become mushy.
  • Ensure the mushrooms are fresh: Use fresh, firm mushrooms for this recipe. This will ensure the best-tasting result.
  • Dry your mushrooms: Mushrooms already hold a lot of water so removing water used from rinsing will help the end result be more flavorful.
