Ingredients

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  • Once the butter is completely melted, add the marshmallows. Stir the marshmallows continually until they are melted down all the way. Fold in the cereal and 1 cup of coconut flakes.
  • Transfer half of the rice krispie mixture into a 9x13 inch pan coated with nonstick cooking spray or butter. Press the mixture into an even layer.
  • Add the chocolate chips to the pot and turn the heat to low. Continue stirring the mixture until the chocolate chips are completely melted. Press the mixture into the pan.
  • Top your rice krispie treats with the remaining coconut flakes. Chill your rice krispie treats in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store leftover treats in an airtight container for up to 3 days on the counter or in the fridge.
  • You may use unsalted butter if you don’t have salted, but I recommend that you add a pinch of salt for balance.
  • Line your pan with parchment paper to make the treats easier to lift and slice.
