- 2-3 tablespoons butter cold, sliced, as needed

Remove leftover steak from your fridge about 20 minutes before you're going to prepare it. This way your steak reaches room temperature before the heating process begins.
Look at the amount of leftover steak you have and decide how best to slice it up so you end up with pieces that are as close to the same size as possible to promote even heating.
