  • Heat the oven to 375°.
  • In a large oven safe skillet, heat the oil and cook the beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until the meat is no longer pink.
  • Stir the ketchup, water, brown sugar, tomato paste, worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and chili powder, then add to the meat.
  • Simmer for 1 minute, then top with the biscuits.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, then top with tinfoil and continue baking for 5 minutes or until the biscuits are baked through.
  • Remove and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Be sure to use a large oven-safe skillet for cooking the meat and vegetables.
  • Before storing leftovers, make sure that all ingredients have been cooled down completely before sealing them in airtight containers to ensure maximum freshness while storing.
  • Only simmer your sauce for a minute so y don't reduce your sauce too much or you'll end up with a dry sloppy joe and who wants that?

Before baking, you can store the sloppy joes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Before serving, top with biscuits and bake.
