Honey Mustard Glazed Ham

This baked ham recipe is sweet, tangy, and undeniably good. The simple honey mustard ham glaze turns your ham into the most mouth-watering sauce you’ll ever come across.

  • Place ham, flat side down, on a rack in a roasting pan and add ½ cup of the apple juice and the beer.
  • In a saucepan, bring glaze ingredients to a simmer and stir until smooth.
  • Brush half of the glaze over the ham.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 325ºF for 1-½ - 2 hours for a whole ham or 1 - 1½ hours for a spiral cut ham. For best results, cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F.
  • Brush with the rest of the glaze,
  • Turn heat up to 375°F and place back in the oven. Cook until internal temperature reaches 130°F. Broil if desired.
  • Transfer to a cutting board and rest for 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Be patient with the sauce. There's not much cooking involved, but don't fall into the trap of "faster is better". That's not the case with this glaze. Make sure you allow it time to simmer and reduce for the best flavor.
  • Broil the ham before serving. It's not necessary, but it will give you a caramelized, crusty layer on the top of the honey mustard ham. . 
  • Let the ham rest. Giving it about 20 minutes to sit, allows the juices to settle and seal in the flavor. 
  • Using a bone-in ham? No worries! This honey mustard glaze for ham will work on it too! Just be sure to extend the cooking time to 2 ¾ - 3 hours.
