Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease a bread pan very well. Place oven rack on the top rung.
In a large mixing bowl beat together with a hand mixer the butter, sugar and eggs till yellow and creamy.
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate medium bowl. Set aside.
To the large mixing bowl add the milk, sour cream and vanilla mix into a batter.
Using a spoon, slowly add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredient batter.
With a large spoon fold ½ cup sprinkles into the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared bread pan.
Bake for 40-50 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the middle of the bread to check for doneness. Toothpick should come out clean when baked through.
Remove the bread from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
Prepare your serving dish or cooling rack for the icing of the bread.
After the bread has been cooling for 5 minutes, run a knife around the edges of the bread pan to ensure the sides are loosened, then turn the bread pan upside down and gently remove the bread from the pan.
Let the bread cool completely before icing.
In a large mixing bowl combine the icing ingredients: powder sugar, cream, vanilla, and using a whisk, beat till smooth.
Pour evenly over the bread.
Top with holiday colored sprinkles.
As many or as little as you want.
Slice and serve.
