Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Prepare an 8x8-inch pan by lining it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, melt butter.
Add cocoa powder and vanilla to butter. Whisk until smooth.
Add brown sugar and eggs. Whisk or beat with an electric mixer.
Add flour and salt and beat again until smooth.
Stir in half of the chocolate chips. Reserve some to sprinkle on top.
Transfer batter to your prepared pan.
Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top, pressing them into the batter gently.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
