- 1 pound penne noodles
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or 2 pounds, sliced into strips
- 1 tablespoon garlic minced
- ½ tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
Bang Bang Pasta Sauce
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup Sweet Thai Chili Sauce
- 2 tablespoon Sriracha or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
Cook noodles according to package directions and drain. Set aside.
While the pasta is cooking, season chicken strips in a bowl with garlic, smoked paprika, salt and black pepper.
Working in 2 batches, melt 2 tablespoon butter in a large skillet on medium to medium-high heat. Then cook chicken for about 5 minutes a side or until cooked through. Repeat for the second batch.
Meanwhile, make the bang bang sauce by adding all the ingredients into a small bowl and mix well. Set aside.
When the chicken is cooked add pasta and sauce to the pan. Heat on low, toss until coated and serve.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing or serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the chicken tender and juicy.
- Cook the pasta just until al dente. Overcooked pasta can become mushy once it's tossed with the Bang Bang sauce.
- Reserve some pasta water before draining. It's an easy way to thin the sauce without diluting the flavor or sacrificing its creamy texture.
