Almond Crusted Walleye

  • Get out and measure your ingredients.
  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • In one shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • In another shallow bowl, whisk egg and milk together.
  • In a third bowl, combine almonds and breadcrumbs.
  • Now you have your workstation ready.
  • Coat each walleye filet in the flour mixture. Shake off excess.
  • Then dredge it in the egg mixture.
  • Next, cover it in the almond breadcrumb blend.
  • Place breaded filets in a greased baking dish.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until internal temperature of filets reach 140ºF. Serve.

Notes

To Pan Fry - Over medium heat, melt ¼ cup butter. Add fillets to hot butter and fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of your fillets. Use a spatula to carefully flip so coating remains in tact.
