- 12 strawberries washed and completely dried
- 6 ounces white chocolate or white dipping chocolate
- 1 teaspoon neutral oil such as coconut or vegetable oil
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
Place the white chocolate and oil in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.
Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted white chocolate, gently swirling to coat most of the berry.
Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl, then place the strawberry onto the prepared baking sheet.
Repeat with the remaining strawberries and chocolate.
Allow the strawberries to set at room temperature or refrigerate for about 20 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
For an extra decorative touch, drizzle any remaining melted white chocolate over the dipped strawberries using a spoon or a small zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
- After washing your strawberries, dry them thoroughly with paper towels. Let them come to room temperature, since cold strawberries can cause the chocolate to seize more easily.
- White chocolate burns easily, so melt it in short 20–30 second intervals, stirring well between each round to help it heat evenly.
- I don’t recommend skipping the oil. Adding the oil to the melted chocolate helps keep it smooth and makes dipping the strawberries much easier.
