McDonald's Peppermint Mocha

This McDonald's peppermint mocha copycat recipe is rich, creamy, and full of peppermint and chocolate flavors. Made fresh at home, it's even better than the Mickey D's version that we all know and love.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups whole milk
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • 2 ounces chocolate semi-sweet
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint syrup

Garnishes

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan combine whole milk, coffee, chocolate, and sea salt and melt on medium heat until small bubbles start to form.
  • Bring the heat right down and let it stand for about 2 minutes, whisking occasionally.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add in peppermint syrup, whisk again.
  • Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup or crushed candy canes!

Notes

  • Remove the coffee mixture from the heat as soon as bubbles begin to form so you don't curdle the milk.
  • Be sure to let your mixture rest for a full 2 minutes and stir occasionally to ensure all the flavors meld well.
  • Make this peppermint mocha just before you're ready to serve so it's nice and piping hot.
