Ketchup with Onion

This ketchup with onions is zingy, sweet, and full of caramelized onions. Onion ketchup makes a great condiment or addition to any sauce.

Instructions

  • Get out and measure your ingredients.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Add butter and melt it, stirring often. Add onions and sprinkle brown sugar over top.
  • Saute for 15 minutes. Stir regularly.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in white vinegar
  • and ketchup.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Check for acceptable consistency. If you prefer thicker ketchup simply simmer longer.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool a bit before using.
  • Serve.
