Instructions

  • Place your sliders into the bottom of your casserole dish and cut a slit into the tops of the buns about ¾ of the way to the bottom.
  • Spread the cuts slightly and push a slice of cheese inside, if using, followed by a hot dog inside the cheese in each slit.
  • Brush the buns with the melted butter.
  • Bake in your preheated oven uncovered for 10-15 minutes or until the tops are toasted, cheese is melted and the hotdogs are heated throughout.

Notes

  • Don’t cut too deep: Keeps buns intact
  • Use a serrated knife: Helps slice the rolls cleanly without squishing them
  • Use bun-length hot dogs: Better fit or cut hot dogs to correct size
  • Serve warm: Best taste and texture
  • Cover loosely with foil: Prevents over-browning if baking longer
  • Add seeds: After you brush on melted butter quickly sprinkle on sesame or poppy seeds for a classic hot dog bun look
