Ingredients

  • olive oil for cooking
  • ½ medium white onion diced
  • 1 jalapeño seeded, finely diced
  • 4 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground oregano dried
  • 10-12 taco shells

Options

  • 1 avocado mashed with salt and lime juice
  • 1 tomato diced
  • ½ cup Colby jack cheese or cheese of your choice freshly shredded is best
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • ½ cup green or red salsa
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro garnish, if desired
  • 1 lime cut into wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Get out and measure your ingredients.
  • Heat the oil over medium heat and add diced onions. Cook until they become translucent. Add the jalapeño and garlic to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes, or until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  • Push the veggies to the sides and cook the ground beef in the center and sprinkle in the onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin powder, salt and oregano.
  • Stir and cook the beef until browned, then drain off the excess liquid and set aside.
  • Lay out all of the fillings and assemble the tacos by adding the ground beef, guacamole, tomato, cheese, lettuce, salsa and cilantro.
  • Serve immediately with lime wedges.
  • Enjoy every bite!
