Hamburger Hash Brown Casserole

Hamburger Hash Brown Casserole is an easy and tasty dinner idea! It’s creamy, and cheesy, and is ready in 45 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cups chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 4 cups shredded frozen hash browns
  • 12 oz frozen vegetables
  • 2 cups shredded cheese divided
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup 1 can
  • 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup 1 can

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • In a greased medium skillet, add ground beef, onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook until beef is cooked through and onions are transparent.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine hash browns, vegetables, and 1 cup shredded cheese. Stir well.
  • Add ground beef mixture, cream of chicken, and cream of mushroom. Stir well.
  • Transfer mixture to a greased 9-13-inch baking dish.
  • Top with remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is completely melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • Drain the grease. The excess grease can change the texture of the casserole so drain or soak it up with paper towels before combining the meat mixture with the other ingredients. 
  • Melt the cheese. Don’t skip the step of removing the foil. This ensures that the cheese is melted and bubbly!
  • Mix thoroughly. When combining all of the ingredients, make sure they are mixed well so they cook evenly in the oven.
