Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected, and place the bottom half in the prepared dish. Bake for 5 minutes. Layer half of the Swiss cheese over the toasted rolls, then spread the mayonnaise evenly over the cheese.
Layer the ham evenly over the rolls and add the remaining Swiss cheese if desired. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush the mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
- Build them properly: Keep the rolls connected, use quality deli ham, layer the ingredients evenly, and use freshly sliced or shredded cheese for the best flavor and texture.
- Bake for success: Brush the butter mixture over every corner of the rolls, toast the bottom buns first if making ahead, and avoid overbaking so the sliders stay soft and cheesy.
- Serve at their best: Let the sliders rest for a few minutes before slicing, serve them warm, and customize the meats, cheeses, and toppings to make them your own.
