Creamy Jalapeno Sauce
This Creamy Jalapeno Sauce is an even better version of Taco Bell’s jalapeno sauce. It’s perfectly zesty and flavorful with just the right amount of heat.

- 2 jalapenos cut in half with seeds removed, roasted
- 1 tablespoon oil for roasting the jalapenos
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- ¾ cup cilantro firmly packed
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 ½ tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil extra virgin
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ cracked black pepper
Preheat the oven to 400º.
Cut the jalapenos in half and remove the seeds. Place them on a baking sheet and drizzle them with olive oil. Roast in the oven for 15 minutes (flipping halfway through) or until soft and slightly charred. You can also broil them for a couple of minutes near the end of the cooking time.
In a food processor or blender, add all the ingredients, including the roasted jalapenos. Blend until smooth.
Enjoy this on everything from steak to chicken and fish. Perfect as a sauce on tacos, roasted corn, or as a salad dressing.
- Keep the seeds: If you love spice, keep the seeds in the jalapenos to add more heat.
- Try parsley: Don’t like cilantro? Swap it for a milder herb like parsley.
- Storage directions: Store this sauce in a mason jar for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
