Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese preferably full-fat or 2%
  • cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried chives or 1 tablespoon fresh chopped chives
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1–2 tablespoons buttermilk or milk for a thinner consistency

Instructions

  • In a blender or food processor, combine the cottage cheese, Greek yogurt (or sour cream), and lemon juice. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Add in the onion powder, garlic powder, dill, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper. Pulse briefly to incorporate the seasonings.
  • Taste and adjust salt, pepper, or herbs as desired. If you prefer a thinner dip, add a tablespoon or two of milk or buttermilk and blend again.
  • Transfer the dip to a bowl and chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve with raw vegetables, potato chips, pita chips, or as a spread for sandwiches and wraps.

Notes

Makes about 1 ½ cups
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Stir before serving, especially if the dip has separated slightly.
  • Use a high-powered blender or food processor for a perfectly smooth texture.
  • If you like chunky dip, pulse less or mash by hand.
  • Full-fat cottage cheese gives you the creamiest result.
  • Allow the dip to chill for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavor significantly.
  • Adjust salt gradually to avoid over-seasoning.
  • Add milk slowly to control thickness.
  • Fresh herbs can be used instead of dried for a brighter flavor simply triple the amount of fresh and chill an extra hour for best results.
