Whisk in the egg until it is thoroughly incorporated with the creamed sugar. Reduce the speed of your hand mixer and gently whisk in the flour, jello powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
Use a standard size cookie scoop to drop balls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet. Bake your cookies for 11 minutes.
Remove your cookies from the oven and press a Hershey kiss into the center of each cookie. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes and then transfer them to a wire cooling rack. Enjoy!
- Use room temperature butter: Ensures smooth creaming and better texture
- Don’t overmix dough: Prevents dense cookies
- Chill dough if sticky: Makes shaping easier
- Use cookie scoop: Keeps cookies the same size We used a #40 cookie scoop. As long as your cookie dough balls are about 1 ½ tablespoons big you are good to go.
- Add kisses immediately after baking: Helps them stick properly
- Avoid overbaking: Keeps cookies soft and chewy
- Press kiss gently: Prevents cracking cookies
- Space cookies evenly: Allows proper spreading
- Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days on the counter.
- Allow cookies to cool: Let your cookies cool completely before storing them so the hershey kisses don’t melt in the container.
