Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian slider buns still connected
  • 2 cups shredded chicken rotisserie or leftover
  • ½ pound deli ham or leftover
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Swiss cheese or sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard or yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish and brush lightly with melted butter, if desired. Bake for 5 minutes to lightly toast.
  • Remove from the oven and layer the deli ham evenly over the toasted buns, followed by the shredded chicken. Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese evenly over the chicken, then place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder until smooth. Brush the mixture evenly over the tops of the buns.
  • Bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, sprinkle with the chopped parsley, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Start with quality ingredients: Rotisserie chicken saves time and adds great flavor, while freshly shredded Swiss cheese melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Build the best sliders: Keep the rolls connected for easier assembly, lightly toast the bottom buns to help prevent sogginess, and layer the ham, chicken, and cheese evenly so every slider is filled with flavor.
  • Bake to perfection: Brush the butter glaze evenly over every bun, bake just until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown, then let the sliders rest for 3 to 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Plan ahead: Assemble the sliders several hours in advance and refrigerate until you're ready to bake. Brush with the butter glaze just before baking and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
