Brownie Pretzels

Add your chocolate chips to a large microwave safe mixing bowl. Melt your chocolate.
Once the chocolate is completely melted, add the pretzels. Fold the chocolate and pretzels together until the pretzels are evenly coated.
Whisk the powdered sugar, brownie mix, and salt together and then add it to the mixing bowl. Toss the pretzels in the dry mixture until they are coated. Gently dump coated pretzels on parchment covered baking sheet to set and cool before serving or storing.
- Sift brownie mix if lumpy.
- Melt chocolate in short intervals (30 seconds) in microwave to avoid burning, stirring chocolate in between each interval.
- Use a very large bowl and spatula for easier coating of pretzels.
- Make sure your pretzels are evenly coated in chocolate so that the brownie mixture sticks well.
- Add dry coating gradually while gently tossing.
- The flakey sea salt helps balance out the sweetness of the brownie mix. You might feel tempted to skip it since the pretzels already have salt on them but it is worth it.
- Store fully cooled pretzels in an airtight container or resealable bag in a cool place for up to a week. Only refrigerate if your kitchen is very warm and the chocolate is soft.
- Any kind of boxed brownie mix will work for this recipe. You likely won’t need the whole box, so we save the leftover mix for another batch of these pretzels.
- Feel free to use your favorite kind of chocolate. Dark chocolate, almond bark, milk chocolate, or white chocolate melts smoothly and will work well for coating pretzels.
