Smoked Green Beans

Smoked Green Beans are buttery, garlicky, and full of smoky flavor. This homemade green beans recipe has a ring of familiarity to it, but takes the taste of green beans to a whole new level!

  • 1 lbs Green Beans
  • ½ cup Butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic or to taste.

Optional Sauce Ingredients

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 3 cloves garlic minced or one tablespoon minced garlic
  • ¼ cup dill weed
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ tsp salt


  • When ready to cook, set smoker temperature to 250°F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.
  • Put the green beans in a pile on a rimmed baking sheet and pour the melted butter over them. Using tongs, spread the beans out in the pan and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Roast the beans for about 3 hour, stirring and lifting with tongs every 20 minutes or so. The beans should be very tender, shriveled, and lightly browned in places. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve while hot. Enjoy!

Optional Sauce directions

  • Mix together all sauce ingredients and allow to chill while your green beans are smoking. Drizzle over green beans and serve.
